Hi, I smoked from age 15 to 35. i quit smoking on Jan 1, 2009 and have not had even a puff since then. I used patches and would not have been able to do it without them. After the first couple of weeks I thought it was awful and how was I possibly going to live like this forever, but the feelings really do pass and one thing I found really useful is the positive talking to yourself eg: I don't want a smoke, I don't need a smoke - they are nothing to me and i am better without them. I know sounds silly but it has really started to work. The quitcoach was a welcome distraction when my cravings were strong also and helped me enormously. Good Luck everyone - you CAN Do it!
